Improving
learning through study techniques depends a lot on the type of student. Some persons
find it useful to underline the text, others emphasize the most important
terms, and even there are those who learn more making their own notes and
summaries in their own words.
Today we
collect some of the best techniques of study that are known so you can choose
the one that you like or help a friend or family member to put them into
practice and try to improve the learning process.
5- MENTAL
MAPS
The creation of
mental maps or conceptual networks is excellent for organizing ideas and
summarizing the most important topics of a text. They can save us study hours
and help fix content before an exam. There are web tools available that help
you easily create conceptual networks quickly.
4- STUDY
FILES
The study
sheets are very useful for remembering specific dates and data, from vocabulary
to numbers. In subjects like chemistry, history, geography or languages we
can use the study sheets to include the important terms or data that will enter
the exam and learn them definitively.
3- TESTS
The online
tests are excellent to check if we have learned the mechanisms to conjugate a
verb or the vocabulary in a new language. In addition, they can be used to
complete math or physics exercises. A good way to expand our knowledge is to
create tests and exchange them with our friends.
2- MEMOTECHNICAL
RULES
These are
rules to help you memorize contents, they can be phrases, words or acronyms,
they depend a lot on each person and the objective is that by repeating them,
they help us memorize and link certain contents. Example: FECTES (rule to
remember different types of unemployment, Frictional, Seasonal, Cyclic,
Technological, Structural and Structural Shock).
1- ORGANIZE
THE STUDY
Using well
the most of your time still the best study technique. Set your own calendar,
check the free time to study and do your best in each exam.
